The Founders Story

“I wanted to do something, because it is different for girls” said Carolyn Bedford the founder of DifferentForGirls Limited, which specialises in cup size Tankini & Bikini Swimwear.

“For women blessed with curves, where do you find cup size Tankini & Bikini swimwear that fits well, provides the necessary support and has the designs and colours to make you look and feel great at that dreadful moment when you take your clothes off to sit by the pool or on the beach?”

Carolyn finds that swimwear shopping for her three teenage daughters is a joy. A wide range of brands, styles, colours and sizes are available, but for herself the choice narrows considerably.

After years of searching and dissatisfaction she one day proclaimed that she would get one made for herself. She actually never did, but a seed was sown, perhaps other women feel like I do!

Whilst having business experience and design flair, Carolyn had no experience of manufacturing swimwear, so she enrolled on a specialist swimwear programme at London School of Fashion, to see if her ideas could be made to work.

After an intensive period of study and research she started to put her collection together. Inspired by classic glamour she searched to find the right technical support, pattern maker, fabrics, components and embellishments plus a factory, which could make the Tankinis & Bikinis to the highest quality. Her travels took her across the UK and to France and Italy before she found what she was seeking.

Her vision was to create a Tankini & Bikini range which looked beautiful but also was constructed in such a way that was flattering and gave women confidence in a wide choice of colours and sizes.

The result of her efforts’ is a stunning Tankini  & Bikini collection which is really DifferentForGirls!!
